Hi Everyone, I’m off to Milwaukee tomorrow morning for the big BEAD AND BUTTON 2014 bead show! It’s supposed to be the largest bead show in the country. My sister, Melanie Ricks Ladd and I will be demonstrating THE RICKS BEADING LOOM in The BeadSmith booth. I’m sure we’ll be meeting many “RICKS LOOMATIKS” at the show. Be sure to drop by the booth and have your loom and booklet signed. I“m always happy to sign them.

Last years show was great and if the interest shown lately is any indication, this years show will be better than ever! Hopefully we’ll have kits designed specially for THE RICKS BEADING LOOM available for order at this years show. I have prepared 6 different kits, each featuring one of my own designs. The BeadSmith has working to get them into production and I understand they are now ready.Here are some photos from past years shows and of course, I’ll be taking more pictures at this years show.

Greetings to Ricks Loomatiks everywhere! As mentioned earlier, we had a GREAT event at The Birds and The Beads shop in Morganville, NJ. I received the photos from the event and wanted post the group photo of all the wonderful Loomatiks there! We have three chapters of Loomatiks now and inquiries for more. JTV’s JEWEL SCHOOL THIS WEEKEND

Hi Everybody! I get the chance to appear on JTV’s LIVE nationally televised JEWEL SCHOOL again this week. The show is Sunday and Monday from 10 am to 12 noon (Eastern Time). I got the production schedule yesterday and my first segment begins about 10:49 am. There will be another segment between 11:45 and 12 noon. Hopefully in the second segment I will be able to talk our RICKS LOOMATIKS chapter in Morganville, NJ. You can check the JTV program guide .

I will also be doing a class today at White Fox Beads. I will have an expert assistant helping in the class. That will be my (much) younger sister, Melanie Ricks Ladd. She is an excellent Bead Instructor, and outstanding loom artist and designer. I look forward to her assistance in the class!

A “Loomarick” from the Loomatiks!

At the big kick-off event for THE RICKS LOOMATIKS at The Birds and The Beads shop in Morganville, NJ, I was presented with a copy of a “Loomarick” (not a Limerick, but a Loomerick) written by a young man especially for the occasion. I wanted to share it with you:

There once was a man Mr. Ricks

The loom he invented was our fix

With so many uses

And no more excuses

We’ve discovered WE’RE ALL LOOMATIKS!

We had a wonderful time at the Kick-off event, with over 75 loomers in attendance. I want to thank Mrs. Donna Raskin for orchestrating this evening. It seems a wonderful time was had by all. I will be posting more information about it and putting up some photos as soon as I receive them.

Hi Everybody,

I’m getting ready to head off to New Jersey to install the charter for the founding chapter of THE RICKS LOOMATIKS! What are the Ricks Loomatiks? They are a group of people who own The Ricks Beading Loom and get together on a regular basis to bead on their looms and exchange ideas on the creation of some of the most beautiful beaded jewelry and wearable art I have seen. So far we have three chapters of The Ricks Loomatiks and if you would like to have information on forming your own chapter, just contact me and I will you the information.
